Waste Oil to Base Oil Plant
A waste oil to base oil plant re-refines suitable used lubricating oils into lubricating-range base oil fractions. It is different from simple filtration or a waste-oil-to-fuel route. Product grade depends on feed quality, fractionation, finishing technology and verification against the intended base oil specification.
Core Re-Refining Process Stages
A project may include feed segregation, filtration, dehydration and light-end stripping, vacuum distillation, controlled fraction collection, optional solvent extraction or other finishing, process-gas treatment and residue handling. The selected route should address degraded additives, oxidation products, sulfur, chlorine, metals and carbon-forming material without mixing incompatible feeds.
Feed and Product Data for Design
Provide representative feed samples and results for water, solids, density, viscosity, flash point, distillation curve, sulfur, chlorine, ash, carbon residue and metals. Define finished-product targets for viscosity, viscosity index, flash point, pour point, color, sulfur, acidity and applicable market requirements. Capacity and yield should follow a documented mass balance, operating conditions and agreed acceptance criteria.
