Waste Oil to Diesel Plant

Waste Oil to Diesel Plant

A waste oil to diesel plant recovers a diesel-range fuel fraction from suitable used lubricating oils, mixed waste oils or selected pyrolysis oils. These feed groups have different contaminants and should not be treated as interchangeable. The recovered liquid is not automatically road diesel; its classification and use depend on finishing, testing and local requirements.

Process Configuration and Feed Testing

A project may include feed receiving and segregation, filtration, dehydration, light-end removal, controlled atmospheric or vacuum distillation, condensation, optional fuel finishing, process-gas treatment and residue handling. Representative samples should be tested for water, solids, density, viscosity, flash point, distillation range, sulfur, chlorine, ash, carbon residue and metals before equipment selection.

Fuel Specification and Project Basis

Define the intended fuel application and applicable specification before setting the process route. Finished product should be verified for the agreed properties, which may include density, viscosity, flash point, distillation range, sulfur, acidity, ash, carbon residue and cold-flow behavior. Capacity and yield should be supported by operating hours, utilities, feed testing, a documented mass balance and acceptance criteria.
