Waste Engine Oil Re-Refining Plant
A waste engine oil re-refining plant recovers lubricant-range fractions from suitable used engine and lubricating oils for further upgrading into regenerated base oil. This route is different from simple filtration and from producing a diesel-range fuel. Feed quality, fractionation and finishing requirements determine the achievable base oil grades and overall material balance.
Re-Refining Process Scope
A project may include feed receiving and segregation, settling and filtration, dehydration, light-end removal, vacuum distillation or thin-film evaporation, lubricant-fraction collection and finishing by solvent extraction, adsorption or another qualified route. Off-gas, light fractions, water and heavy residue require defined recovery, treatment or disposal methods.
Feed and Product Data for Plant Selection
Provide representative samples and results for water, solids, density, viscosity at 40 and 100 C, viscosity index, flash point, pour point, acid number, ash, carbon residue, sulfur, chlorine and metals. Also define the target base oil specification, daily feed availability, operating hours and local requirements. Capacity, yield and quality should be based on feed testing, a documented mass balance and agreed acceptance criteria.
