Pyrolysis Oil to Diesel Plant
A pyrolysis oil to diesel plant separates and conditions suitable pyrolysis oils to recover a diesel-range fraction. Pyrolysis oil properties vary widely with the original material, reactor conditions and condensation system. Water, light ends, sulfur, chlorine, solids, metals, acidity and instability must be measured before the process and materials of construction are selected.
Feedstock Testing and Process Route
A typical route may include feed settling and filtration, dehydration, controlled heating, atmospheric or vacuum fractionation, condensation and product finishing. Light fractions, non-condensable gas and heavy residue require defined handling. The recovered liquid is not automatically road diesel; its permitted use depends on laboratory results, the applicable fuel standard and local regulations.
Project Data and Acceptance Criteria
Provide representative feed samples, the pyrolysis feedstock origin, daily volume, storage conditions and results for density, viscosity, water, flash point, distillation range, sulfur, chlorine, acid number, ash, carbon residue and metals. The proposal should define capacity, utilities, emissions controls, residue handling, product test methods, material balance and acceptance criteria.
